DWR reducing spillway outflows to zero
The Department of Water Resources will begin ramping down outflows from Lake Oroville today.
Flows from the flood control spillway will be reduced starting midday and eventually reach zero cubic feet per second.
DWR temporarily reduced the flows from the Hyatt Powerplant on Sunday from 2,000 cfs to zero cfs in preparation for today’s reduction. Flows from the Powerplant are scheduled to resume as part of the ramp down process.
Flow releases from the Hyatt Powerplant and the Thermalito Afterbay will be used to manage downstream Feather River flows and water elevations.
DWR has scheduled a press briefing on the status of the Oroville Spillway at 11 a.m. today at the DWR Orovile Field Division Office.
