Caltrans to inspect Knights Landing drawbridge

Traffic delays are expected Wednesday morning on Highway 113 at Knights Landing, at the Sutter/Yolo counties line, as the drawbridge is raised intermitte­ntly for a routine bridge inspection conducted by California Department of Transporta­tion crews.

Bridge openings start at about 9 a.m. and continue to about noon. Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes during each opening.

Alternate routes are available during the road closure which can change due to unexpected weather or other events. The latest informatio­n should be posted on electronic highway message boards.

Caltrans work affecting traffic in the Mid-Valley this week also includes:

Sutter County Highway 20 between the Meridian Bridge and the Sutter Bypass – One-way traffic control at various locations from 6 p.m.5 p.m. daily through Thursday for striping work.

Highway 99 between Sacramento Avenue and the SutterButt­e counties line – The northand southbound right shoulders are closed at various locations from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. daily through Thursday for tree trimming work by Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

Yuba County Highway 49 between Camptonvil­le/Jackson Mill and Sleighvill­e Circle – One-way traffic control around the clock through Friday due to emergency highway repairs.

Highway 70 at Ellis Road – The northbound right shoulder is closed from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday for PG&E to replace a utility pole.

Colusa County Highway 20 between 10th and Fifth streets in Colusa – Closed to traffic from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Friday for the annual Colusa Western Days parade and cattle drive.

Highway 16/Highway 20 junction in Colusa County and Rumsey in Yolo County – Full high- way closure due to emergency highway repair work. There is no estimated date for reopening the roadway.

Highway 20 between the Highway 16 junction and Levee Road/Walnut Drive – One-way traffic control from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. daily through Friday for shoulder work.

Highway 20 from west of East Camp Road to about the Powell Slough Bridge – One-way traffic control at various times and locations from 7 p.m.-5 p.m. daily through Thursday for rumble strip installati­on work.
