TheCountryFloristawarded2017 YubaCountyBusinessChampion
Every year, Yuba County celebrates a business champion – a shining example of success in the community – and this year’s award was given to The Country Florist for its longevity in serving the area.
Owner Kevin DeHoff has been running the business for about a decade now. He took over the business from the original owners, Al and Frassie Ludgwig, who opened The Country Florist in 1966.
“I’d just like to thank everybody. What a great honor to be one of the recipients of this award,” DeHoff said. “I’m just the face of the company; my village keeps us going.”
The Country Florist will be commemorated by the county with a billboard along Highway 65 and a picture that will hang in the Government Center next to other past champions.
On behalf of local state officials Sen. Jim Nielsen and Assemblyman James Gallagher, Laura Nicholson presented DeHoff and The Country Florist with a joint certificate of recognition.
“You have truly elevated this wonderful business with the beauty of the flowers and your caring, but also you’ve done so much for the betterment of this community,” Nicholson said. “I want to emphasize, this is a certificate today. Within a couple weeks it will be a full resolution that we will present to you as well.”
This year’s Business Perspectives Luncheon was the seventh annual, with representatives from many of the companies stationed throughout Yuba County.
Past business champions include Beale Air Force Base, Union Lumber, Soper-Wheeler, Inc., Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm, Frank M. Booth and Cotton Rosser/Cotton’s Cowboy Corral.
