Gill named to 4-year term

Colusa native Dr. Raminder S. Gill was named to a four-year term as governor of the California Northern Region Chapter of the American College of Physicians, the national organizati­on of internists.

In 2005, he was named a Fellow of the College.

A graduate of Colusa High School, Gill is a clinical professor of internal medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine and a hospitalis­t at the UC Davis Medical Center.

He is a graduate of UC Davis, received his medical degree from Ohio State University and completed his postdoctor­al training in internal medicine at UC Davis Medical Center.

Gill’s involvemen­t with the organizati­on’s local chapter has included serving on several committees including as a co-chair for the scientific meeting program committee. California’s tax laws is featured in a free Small Business Tax Seminar and Resource Expo at California State University, Chico.

The event, for current business owners and aspiring entreprene­urs, is from 8:30 a.m.-noon June 15 at Colusa Hall 100A, 400 West First St.

Topics include avoiding common sales and use tax problems, employee versus independen­t contractor, target marketing for your business and forms of ownership.

Sponsors include the city of Chico and members of the California State Board of Equalizati­on.
