SOFTBALL: Peach Bowl, Sutter Area minors win

Peach Bowl past Live Oak in an eliminatio­n game on Tuesday night at Earle Yorton Field in Marysville.

Peach Bowl scored four runs in the first and led 7-0 after three innings before Live Oak made a late comeback by scoring four runs in the fifth and final inning.

Ella Sarpalius added an RBI single and score twice, and Kylie Elias had an RBI single and scored once to help the cause for Peach Bowl.

Jaycee Lee struck out eight and allowed two hits over the first three innings to record the win. Dell recorded three strikeouts over the final two frames to close it out.

Chloe Contreras and Alexis Myers recorded the lone hits for Live Oak, while Myers, Aleena Ramirez and Paige Madeiros had an RBI each.

Sutter Area 8, Colusa 3 Kendall Brown struck out 11 while throwing a one-hitter, and the Sutter Area Storm took an 8-0 lead after three innings to beat the Colusa Glory in Tuesday night’s other eliminatio­n game.

Tori Moody went 2 for 3 with a run scored, and Brown and Sofia Ramirez added a single each to provide the offense for Sutter Area. Ramirez also scored a run.

Abril Guzman recorded an RBI single to account for Colusa’s lone hit, and Mia Valencia scored a run.

Olivia Huskey struck out four and allowed two hits over four innings to take the loss.
