Four arrested in Yuba County on weapons, parole violations
Four people, including three known Norteño gang members, were arrested for weapons and parole violations Tuesday night by Yuba County sheriff’s deputies.
Officers made a traffic stop in the 1700 block of HammontonSmartsville Road around 10 p.m. During the stop, deputies found two loaded firearms inside the vehicle.
The driver, Jesus Emilio Nunez, 33, of Linda – who was on parole and a known Norteño gang member – was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a concealed firearm as an active participant in a criminal street gang, and violation of parole.
The firearms were reportedly found concealed in the purse of a passenger – Bianca Monique Zuniga, 22, of Linda. She was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon as a felon.
Both guns were within Nunez’s reach, said Leslie Carbah, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.
Two other passengers – Audel Rivera, 23, and Randolph Havlin, 32, both of Linda – were arrested on suspicion of violating parole. Carbah said both men are also known Norteño gang members.
Tuesday’s arrests were part of a gang suppression operation carried out by the Yuba-Sutter AntiGang Enforcement unit, which is comprised of local law enforcement agencies. The unit comes together periodically to focus on wanted gang suspects.
Carbah said YSAGE detectives saw Nunez leaving a residence with the others shortly before the arrest. The gang unit, which was in an unmarked car, called into the sheriff’s office for one of its patrol units to make the traffic stop.
Following the traffic stop, a search of Nunez’s residence found an additional firearm.
All four suspects were booked into Yuba County Jail. Bail for Zuniga was set at $25,000. Nunez, Rivera and Havlin are being detained on parole violation holds.
