Man shot over drugs, 3 at large
A Sacramento man was shot during a drug deal Sunday afternoon in Yuba City and three people are at large, police said.
The 20-year-old was wounded in an arm and a leg just before 2 p.m. in the 1200 block of Casita Drive. Police Commander Tom Tappe said Monday that the wounds were non-life threatening.
Two of the victim’s associates, Ramon Keye, 23, and Jordyn Tolbert, 20, also of Sacramento, were arrested on suspicion of transporting/selling marijuana, possessing cannabis for sale and conspiracy.
Tappe said police believe the victim, Keye and Tolbert were in the area attempting to sell marijuana – they had more than a pound of cannabis in their vehicle. Three men driving a gold Honda or Toyotatype vehicle attempted to steal the marijuana, Tappe said, and police believe shots were exchanged both ways; though police only know of the one victim.
The three men, all black, fled the scene and are still on the run. The shooting is still under investigation, and anyone who may have information is encouraged to call the police at 8224660.
A 42-year-old Yuba City man, arrested last December on allegations that he sexually assaulted a child over the span of several years, pleaded not guilty in Yuba County Superior Court on Monday.
Williams Louis Inderbitzen was arrested by the Marysville Police Department Dec. 19 at his home in the 1300 block of El Dorado Lane on suspicion of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
The department received reports last August
A juvenile was arrested after allegedly firing shots at a vehicle Sunday morning in Yuba City.
Police were dispatched about 10 a.m. to the intersection of Wilbur and Del Monte avenues.
They determined that a dark green Honda pulled up to two youths, and one of the boys pulled out a handgun and fired toward the car, police Commander Tom Tappe said Monday.
It is unknown if anyone in the vehicle was struck, and so far there’s no information to indicate there were any injuries, he said.
Only the alleged shooter was arrested, on suspicion of unlawful discharge of a firearm at an inhabited vehicle and discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner that could result in injury or death.
Tappe said he did not have information to indicate the shooting was gangrelated, though police aren’t ruling anything out at this point.
