Huskies compete at Vern Regier Invite

Sutter High competed at Vern Regier Invitational at Durham High School on Friday with 18 other schools, including River Valley and Colusa, which did not report any statistics.

Here is how Sutter performed:

Varsity Girls Mia Ashby remained undefeated in the 800, 1,600, and 3,200 meter this season. She took first in the 3200m and set a new Huskies’ record with a time of 11:48 minutes. She was first in the 800m (2:31 min) and first in the 1600m (5:41 min).

Savannah Bailey won the 100m (12.06 sec.), 200m (26.57 sec.) and was second in the 400m (59.64 sec.).

Sara Filer set a new personal best by throwing 93.7 inches in the discus and placed third.

Varsity Boys Jonathon Zubia was first in the 400m with a time of 53.17 seconds, fifth in the 200m with a new personal best of 23.97 seconds and seventeenth in the 800m (2:16 min.).

Bailey Rockholt was second in the 3200m with a time of 10:35 minutes.

JV Girls Mateya Gualco was fourth in the 100m (14.31 sec.) and fifth in the 200m (30.43 sec.) and placed fifth in the triple jump.

Lilli Patrick was second in the 400m (66.96 sec.) and second in the 800m (2:39 min.). He was also a part of the first place 4x400m team with Kenzi Johnson, Kaylynne Turner and Perla Martinez with a time of 4:45 minutes.

Sara Ashby and Martinez finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 3200m.

JV Boys Bryce Harper won the 800m (2:19 min.) and was thirdrd in the 1600m (5:16 min.) and anchored the first place 4x400m team with Isaiah Martinez, Raymond Baldez and Daiven Atwal (4:09 min.)

Daiven Atwal won the triple jump with a new personal best mark and the long jump with a new personal best.

Braedyn Hick set a new personal best on his way to winning the boys 3200m, with a time of 10:58 minutes. He was also fifth in the mile (5:20 min.).

Xavier Pitula set a new personal best in the high jump with a mark and placed fourth. He was also sixth in the 3200m (12:01 min.) and seventh in the 1600m (5:29 min.).
