Blake Craft, Delaney Amarel propel YC softball to TCC win

Blake Craft racked up 14 strikeouts in a completega­me shutout, Delaney Amarel broke a scoreless tie with a 3-run home run and the Yuba City High softball team beat Inderkum in Sacramento on Monday.

Craft’s walked three and allowed two hits in the Tricounty Conference win.

Amarel was 2 for 3 with a double and provided her game-changing home run in the sixth inning.

Monique Villavicen­cio was 2 for 3 with a pair of singles, while Michaela Jellsey was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Yuba City (10-3, 4-1) will play crosstown rival River Valley on Wednesday.

The Honkers junior varsity team (14-0, 5-0) remained perfect on the season after an 8-2 win over Inderkum.

Maggie Penning tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts, Nicole Robertson and Bethany Baca had two RBIS, and Kaylah Lutz was 2 for 3 with two RBIS.

Lindhurst 10, Capital Christian 0, 5 innings

In Olivehurst – Danika Martin commanded the circle and helped her cause at the plate for the Blazers, who remain undefeated in Golden Empire League play.

The sophomore struck out 13 batters and gave up two hits through five innings, while going 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI.

Arika Elliott was 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI and a triple, while Alexis Steele was 1 for 2 with a pair of RBIS.

Lindhurst (5-4, 2-0) plays at Natomas today.

BASEBALL Marysville 4, West Campus 3

In Sacramento – Dominic Crabtree singled in Justin Walsh in the top of the seventh inning and Canyon Williams shut the door with three scoreless innings.

The Indians crawled back from an early 2-0 deficit to win their first GEL game since late March.

Walsh was 1 for 4 with two runs, Job Stout was 1 for 3 with an RBI double and John Flores was 2 for 3 with a run scored.

Marysville (11-4, 6-2) plays at home against West Campus on Wednesday.

In junior varsity play, the Honkers (6-2, 3-4) beat West Campus 9-2.

Jesse Reyes was 3 for 4, while Nico Johnson and Daniel Jones combined for 12 strikeouts and three hits. River Valley 11, Rio Linda 3

In Rio Linda – A flurry of hits and solid pitching has the Falcons one game under .500 in TCC play.

Ayden Gould was 3 for 4 with three RBIS and a double, while both Aaron Minnix and Josh Lee were 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIS and a double.

Jacob Shackelfor­d was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Jalen Dulai was 2 for 5 with two runs scored

River Valley (5-10, 3-4) hosts Rio Linda on Wednesday. Capital Christian 17, Lindhurst 0, 5 innings In Olivehurst – Freshman Anthony Rodriguez provided the lone bright spot for the Blazers, who were overwhelme­d at home in Golden Empire League play.

Rodriguez pitched 5 1/3 innings and struck out seven. Toby Pena provided the sole hit for Lindhurst (1-12, 1-6) which travels to Capital Christian on Wednesday. COLLEGE Baseball Los Medanos 9, Yuba 8 In Linda – The 49ers scraped back from an 8-2 deficit, but could not pull off the come back as they lost consecutiv­e Bay Valley Conference games to Los Medanos.

Michael Shoenberge­r was 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and runs, Aidan gums was 3 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI, and Danile Hale was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Yuba (11-20, 2-9) plays at Contra Costa today.

GOLF RV takes TCC tourney In Linda – The River Valley golf team finished in first place in a Tri-county Conference tournament, finishing 62 strokes ahead of the next closest team.

The Falcons shot 396, Inderkum shot a 458 and Yuba City shot a 509 for third.

Trey Davis finished four under par and shot a 68 for first place, Riley Bell shot a 78, Andrew Davidson shot an 81, Guramrit Ghoman shot an 83, while Ryan Jelavich shot an 86 for the Falcons.

River Valley (14-0, 12-0) host Rio Linda at Peach
