Indians’ baseball bounces back after tough week
YC baseball remains perfect in TCC play
The Marysville High baseball team was quick to put last week’s trio of losses to Capital Christian in the rearview mirror, as the Indians bounced back with a 10-0 Golden Empire League win over Natomas in five innings on Monday in Marysville.
Canyon Williams pitched a shortened no-hitter for the Indians, striking out nine and walking two in the win. At the plate, Williams helped his own cause with a 2-for-3 performance with a pair of RBIS and a run scored.
John Flores was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Dominic Crabtree was 2 for 2 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIS and stolen bases.
Marysville (13-8, 8-6) plays at Natomas on Wednesday.
Yuba City 8, River City 4 In West Sacramento – The Honkers remained perfect in Tricounty Conference play behind a solid-pitching performance by Bryce Rodgers.
Rodgers went six innings for the Tcc-leading Honkers, scattering six hits and striking out three.
At the plate, Brad Madison and Matt Clayton combined for a 6-for-8 performance with five runs scored.
Yuba City (17-4, 12-0) plays a makeup game at Woodland today and will host River City on Wednesday. Sutter 14, Willows 1, 5 innings In Sutter – Sonny Mccoskey pitched a complete game with four hits and both Dante Caracciola and Zach Yacavace each put together a 3-for-3 performance in a nonleague win.
Mccoskey finished with four strikeouts, while Caracciola had a pair of doubles and RBIS and three runs scored. Yacavace had three RBIS and was a home run shy of a cycle.
Sutter (17-5-1, 6-0) returns to Butte View League play when it hosts Orland today.
In the junior varsity game, Sutter (20-4-1, 6-0) beat Willows 16-0 in five innings.
Nic Moroni was 2 for 2, Brandon Taddy was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIS, and Tai Haines was 2 for 2 with an RBI.
Pioneer 12, River Valley 7 In Woodland – Nicholas Tejada strung together a 3-for-4 performance, but the Falcons were unable to break a five-game TCC losing streak.
Tejada added an RBI, stolen base and scored two runs in the loss.
Colby Chipchase was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
River Valley (4-9, 6-14) hosts Pioneer on Wednesday.
BOYS GOLF River Valley 186, Inderkum 224 In Sacramento – The Falcons were six over par as a team, shooting a school record 186 in a TCC win over Inderkum.
Trey Davis led the team with a 34, while Riley Bell shot a 37, Andrew Davidson and Ryan Jelavich shot a 38, and Guramrit Ghoman shot a 39.
River Valley (18-0, 16-0) plays Yuba City at Peach tree Golf & Country Club in Linda on Wednesday.
