Judge denies early release for Sac rapper

Yuba County Superior Court Judge Debra Givens appointed the juvenile a public defender at Tuesday’s hearing.

Family members and the defense requested the suspect be released but were ultimately denied.

Givens ordered the juvenile to return to court May 16 at 9 a.m. for a prehearing, before returning May 30 at 9 a.m. to determine if he will be tried as an adult in criminal court.

He was arrested May 4 by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s gang unit and was transporte­d to Yuba County juvenile hall on Tuesday.

He was positively identified by the victims after they reportedly saw one of his music videos on Facebook and picked an image of the suspect out of a photo line-up.
