An Olivehurst man was arrested Thursday for allegedly calling in a terrorist threat to the Employment Development Department in Marysville on May 18, causing the state department, as well as several other entities operating out of the building, to evacuate.

Joshua David Burbank, 30, of 4200 block of Angelica Way, Olivehurst, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at 9:05 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of making criminal threats.

Burbank allegedly telephoned the threat last Friday. It’s unclear what the threat entailed.

The California Highway Patrol Yuba-sutter responded to the report at the Employment Development Department, which is inside the Joshua David Burbank Yuba County One Stop building in the 1100 block of Yuba Street, Marysville.

The entire building was evacuated around 3:15 p.m.

Burbank was located, interviewed and arrested by CHP Thursday morning. He was booked into Yuba County Jail with bail set at $150,000. Main number .................... Steve Miller ...................... Andrew Cummins .............
