After enduring a tough six-game road trip that saw them come away without a win, the Yuba-sutter Gold Sox put a halt to their losing streak in resounding fashion with an easy 17-5 victory over the San Francisco Seals on Tuesday night at Colusa Casino Stadium in Marysville.

The Gold Sox finished the evening with a season-high 17 hits and belted three home runs to record their first win since June 9.

T.J. Dove got Yuba-sutter off to a strong start when he hit a leadoff double and later scored on an error, and Josh Winkler drove in a run with an RBI groundout to give the Sox a 2-1 lead at the end of the first inning.

Zachary Promes came through with an RBI groundout and Dove smacked a two-run double in the fourth to add to the lead before Jacob Terao broke the game open by connecting for a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to put the Gold Sox up 8-1.

The hits kept coming for Yuba-sutter in the sixth inning as Billy Moreland slapped an RBI double and Darrel Doll followed with a two-run home run to make the score 11-2.

The Gold Sox then tacked on six more runs in the seventh to make it a football score. Steve Robinson and Brody Clifford both drove in runs with singles, another run scored on an error and Moreland cleaned things up by blasting another three-run homer to up the margin to 17-3.

Elijah Smith finished with four hits in a game that saw nine Yuba-sutter players record at least one hit and 10 different players score at least one run.

The Gold Sox (4-13) will look to put together their first winning streak of the season when they host the Seals (5-10) today at 7:05 p.m.
