Plumas Lake minors win two eliminatio­n games

District 2 Little League’s minor baseball all-star tournament continued on Monday night with two eliminatio­n games at Sutter Buttes Little League in Yuba City.

In the evening’s late game, Brody Johnson, Braiden Tablit and Cole Rohleder combined for 13 strikeouts and surrendere­d only two hits to lead Plumas Lake to a 7-3 victory over Peach Bowl.

Johnson struck out seven and allowed one hit over 22/3 innings, Tablit allowed one hit and recorded four stikeouts over 21/3 innings, and Rohleder fanned two batters in a hitless sixth inning to close the game out.

Zeke Garcia singled and scored three times, and Johnson and Leo Hoskins both singled and scored once to lead the way at the plate for Plumas Lake.

Jeremiah Hill went 2 for 3 with a triple, two RBIS and a run scored to provide the offense for Peach Bowl. Westshore 11, Olivehurst-linda 5 Olivehurst-linda saw its tournament run come to an end by recording just three hits in a loss to Westshore in Monday’s early eliminatio­n contest.

Kaleb Hill tripled, knocked in three runs and scored once, Cole Callison hit an RBI double and Riley Mckerick added a single and scored twice for O-L.

Plumas Lake 10, Marysville 5 Braiden Tablit went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored, and Cole Rohleder hit an RBI single and scored once to help propel Plumas Lake over Marysville in an eliminatio­n game on Sunday night.

Travis Perkins hit an RBI single and scored twice, and Jackson Durbin singled and scored once to account for both of Marysville’s hits in the loss. Olivehurst-linda 16, South Sutter 6

Cole Callison finished a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three RBIS and three runs scored to lead Olivehurst-linda to an eliminatio­n game victory over South Sutter in Sunday’s other eliminatio­n game.

Jovani Rodriguez hit a triple, drove in three runs and scored once, and Riley Mckerick went 2 for 4 and scored twice to help the cause for Olivehurst-linda, which rallied for 11 runs over the final two innings to pull away for the win.

Colby Borges went 2 for 3 with a double, Wade Lauppe hit an RBI double, and Kaylyn Ponce doubled and scored twice for South Sutter.
