Rising country music star to perform in Marysville

Rising country music star Tyler Rich will perform next month at a venue close to home.

The Yuba City native is set to perform at The Event, a concert at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club, on Aug. 18.

“I hope people get a great memory that they can look back on and say, ‘I saw Tyler in my home town, in an intimate setting,’” said Jeff Munsey, general manager of Peach Tree Golf & Country Club. “I want them to feel a sense of pride that comes from seeing one of our own make it big time as he becomes a worldwide country artist.”

It’s the largest act that’s been staged at the venue and Munsey said they’re working hard to prepare.

“Putting on a show like Tyler’s isn’t inexpensiv­e. Everything from the quality of the performanc­e to the stage and infrastruc­ture is top notch, just as if they were performing at the Golden 1 Center,” he said. “However, it was important for us to make sure tickets were affordable and accessible which is why in addition to our sold out VIP section and

This is the sixth year the club has been hosting concerts and Munsey said it’s all part of celebratin­g a larger milestone as well as looking forward.

“We are in the multi year plan to bring contempora­ry relevance for the club to today’s Yubasutter community,” he said. “The club will celebrate 60 years next year and we are working hard to ensure the next 60 are just as successful. Having membership programs, entertainm­ent and lifestyle programs that meet the needs of today’s member are important.”

He said the concert serves as introducti­on to the club for people in the community who don’t know about its offerings.

“The Event was the brainchild of one of our members: John Cassidy, CEO at Sierra Central Credit Union,” Munsey said. “As a member and local resident, he is passionate about creating quality of life in the Yuba-sutter area so that our community has access to fun and exciting things that allow us to keep our money within the community.”

Munsey said they use the concert for parents who lost children at any age, from any cause, will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Yuba County Library, 303 Second St., Marysville. Call 674-2595 for more informatio­n.

“Yuba City Police Officer Kenny Soles and his police dog Gunner will be on hand for the concert to help celebrate and thank the community for supporting their efforts and programs to keep the peace,” Munsey said.

Munsey thanked John Cassidy and Sierra Central Credit Union as the presenting sponsor and the more than 30 additional sponsors who make this event happen.
