MARYSVILLE RACEWAY Dwarf Cars return Saturday night
Traveling circuit headlines four-division show
If you like the sound of rip-roaring race cars, close side-by-side, door-banging action and lots of competitors in one division, then Saturday night is a must-see event at Marysville Raceway as one of the best traveling dirt car series in California returns to the action track of the West.
It has been more two months since the traveling Nor Cal Dwarf Car Association has roared around the quarter-mile dirt oval at Marysville Raceway. The popular and extremely competitive division makes their final test and tune Saturday night before their world famous Dwarf Car Nationals event on Sept. 21-22, also at Marysville Raceway.
A large car count combined with some of the best drivers in Northern California is scheduled when the Dwarf Cars come to town.
Heroes in the division include Ryan Winter, Buddy Olschowka, Kevin Bender, Danny Wagner, Mike Reeder, Mike Grenert, Shawn Jones and Scott Dahlgren. These are just a few of the many competitors that make this traveling division must-see entertainment.
Joining the Dwarf Cars on Saturday night will be the winged 360 sprint cars, Super Stocks and Racesaver 305 Sprint Cars.
Chico’s Kenny Allen is at the top of the winged 360 point standings and is in search of this first driving championship. Reno’s Mike Monahan sits just seven points back of Allen and defending track champion Jeremy Hawes is 15 points back.
These three drivers will battle down to the wire as just four point races remain on the schedule.
The Super Stocks are being led by Chris Warner. In six starts, Warner has two wins and six top-five finishes. He holds a large 55-point advantage over second-place Rod Oliver.
The real battle is between second through fourth. Oliver holds a three-point edge over James Castleberry and only 10 points over fourth-place driver Richard Vander Ploeg.
