this weekend to help remove trash and debris around the waterway.

The event is part of the annual California Coastal Commission Cleanup, which was started in 1985. Since it began, the event has collected more than 23 million pounds of trash and recyclable­s throughout the state.

The local cleanup will be Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-noon at the Shad Pad area underneath the E Street Bridge between Marysville and Linda.

This year’s cleanup will be hosted by the Yuba County Community Developmen­t and Services Agency. It will be sponsored by Starbucks, Recology, Friends of Fish and Game, Save Mart, Marysville Farmer’s Market Place, Yuba City High School, Crystal Geyser, Marysville High School, River Valley High School, Wheatland High School, Lindhurst High School and Yuba County Public Works. opportunit­y for audience members to submit written questions to be reviewed and evaluated for possible selection.

Additional­ly, the two candidates for the board of directors of the North Yuba Water District, Division 4 – Donald Forguson and Gretchen Flohr – have been invited to give four-minute presentati­ons to the audience but not to take questions.
