Arts & Oysters is back by popular demand
Yuba Sutter Arts event set for Sunday, Nov. 4 in Yuba City
Due to the overwhelming popularity of last year’s sold out Art & Oysters, the event is back on this year’s calendar and designed to be even bigger and better, according to a press release from Yuba Sutter Arts.
A collaboration between Yuba Sutter Arts and South Yuba County Rotary, Art & Oysters will be Sunday, Nov. 4, from

The location will once again be Justin’s Kitchen, 628 Plumas St.,yuba City. Tickets are $40 each or two for $75 in advance. Tickets at the door, if available, will be $50 each. Proceeds from the event will benefit youth education and arts programs in Sutter and Yuba counties.
So, what might one expect at an event titled Art & Oysters you ask? New this year will be multiple oyster stations where you can select from barbequed, “Rockefellered,” or on the half shell oysters without the long wait times. The oysters will include Justin’s selection of the finest oysters from the North Coast. And for those who don’t yet have their “oyster legs,” chicken Yuba City.
The Yuba City Police Department will host an open house from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Yuba City Police Department, 1545 Poole Blvd., Yuba City. Tours of the department will be given every 30 minutes. Annual Yuba City FFA Car Show. Registration at 7 a.m., judging at 9 a.m. and the show ends at 2 p.m. Yuba City High School in the Park Avenue parking lot. There will be 12 categories of cars: Best Stock Import, Best Modified Import, Best Stock Truck, Best Modified Truck, Best Classic Car, Best Classic Truck, Best Modern Car Stock, Best Modern Car Modified, Tallest Vehicle, Lowest Vehicle, Harley and The People’s Choice. Registrations for cars costs $15, but the event is free.
Coats for Fines. Yuba County Library is forgiving overdue book fine if people donate new or clean warm coats for children or adults through Oct. 31.
