I am very sad, and fearful for my country. Especially the State of California. I just can’t understand elected officials ignoring federal law and making up their own rules. I see what is happening in Portland, Ore., and it makes me sick. How can the mayor allow that to happen. Why does he not allow the police to deal with these violent thugs. And San Francisco, once the most beautiful city in the state, has become a homeless, druggie encampment with the streets being used as latrines.

I hate to admit it, but I lay all of the blame on the Democratic Party. They need to change their name to the Socialist Democratic Party. Members of the House of Representatives and Senate have been encouraging these mobs, telling them to get in people’s faces. I would like to know who is providing the cash for these mob rent-a-thugs.

I have this to say to all of the young people: nothing in life is free, someone is working and paying taxes for all the free stuff that is being handed out.

As far as immigration goes, I am all for legal immigration, but the illegals must be deported quickly and banned from ever reentering the country. Citizens of this country should worry about their fellow citizens, naturalized included, and stop supporting the illegals. The Democrats don’t care about the illegals, they see them as votes. So be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it, and you will not like it. I intend to continue to exercise my rights under the Constitution, and if it offends someone that’s too bad, for I am offended almost every day by something or someone. Billy Cooper
