Marysville native to compete in golf championship
a game they love.
“Playing golf with other men and women of the military is really unique. Usually I can’t relate with others out on the golf course, but here I know I gain a sense of camaraderie no matter who I’m playing with,” said Leonard.
The Marysville native has been swinging the clubs since he was a youngster. Leonard was a four–year varsity golfer at Marysville high school before going on to play competitively at Butte College and then in the Navy.
After college, he enlisted in the Navy where he was stationed for over 13 years in places like Washington and San Diego. During his four deployments he was also stationed on aircraft carriers as well as medical carriers.
Leonard has been playing in the VGA since 2016 and has Marysville local, K.C. Leonard follows through on an iron shot in the fairway during one of his many rounds as a golfer of the Veteran’s Golf Association.

“It has provided some awesome experiences like meeting
with green beret Nate Boyer who has done some outstanding things for the community,” said Leonard.
