$27K worth of cocaine found in dump
Recology workers thought the duct-taped white bricks looked too movie-esque to actually be drugs. But they were wrong. The bricks, constituting $27,000 worth of cocaine, were found at the Marysville dump on Levee Road on Friday, and the local drug task force is looking for the owner.
NET-5 Commander Ron Nelson said they believe the cocaine was accidentally thrown out. And with such a large amount, it’s likely it will be missed by someone.
The task force collected the two bricks – 500 grams each for a total of 1 kilogram – which were wrapped several times in plastic wrap and black tape. They were found separately but within the same vicinity, Nelson said. The bricks are currently being tested for fingerprints and DNA.

An Olivehurst man died Monday from injuries sustained in a collision Sunday.
John W. Johnson, 58, was riding his motorcycle west on Pasado Road approaching the intersection with Gledhill Avenue Sunday afternoon and failed to stop at the stop sign, according to a California Highway Patrol press release. A 30-year-old Olivehurst man, Benito Cardenas, started to make a left turn onto Pasado Road when the front of Johnson’s motorcycle collided with the left rear of Cardenas’ truck.
Johnson was thrown from his motorcycle.
He was taken to Adventist/rideout then to Mercy San Juan, but died from his injuries the next day, CHP reported.
Cardenas was uninjured.
