PG&E: Expect possible power outages

-

Pacific Gas & Electric announced that customers in nine counties – including Yuba County – could have their power turned off starting Thursday due to expected extreme fire danger conditions.

“We will only consider temporarily turning off power in the interest of safety and as a last resort during extreme weather conditions to reduce the risk of wildfire,” said Pat Hogan, senior vice president of Electric Operations for PG&E, in a press release.

Other counties that may experience a power outage include Butte, Lake, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Sonoma. The proactive shutoff is part of the companies Public Safety Power Shutoff. dodging cops and criminals, all while trying to keep the truth from her sister, played by Dern, a local news anchor who’s desperate for a story.”

Is there any connection to Yuba County past the title? Unknown at this time.

“We’d love to invite the production team to see what Yuba County is like,” Brown said.

“We put the offer out there for the screen writer and production team to come visit and see if they want to film it here.”

Brown said there’s no local film commission but the county would do what they can to accommodate the creation of a film named after Yuba County.

“We’re already thinking about possible ways to capitalize on this production,” commented Brown in a Yuba County Facebook post.

Cynthia Fontayne of Marysville has some experience in the world of film and entertainment and commented on the Facebook thread.

“I’ve worked with a number of film commissions and destination promotion entities in the US and around the world,” she wrote, on Facebook. “The screenwriter, Amanda Idoko, a young Cornell grad who has worked on TV sitcoms among other credits, got a big boost when The Blacklist included her Yuba County screenplay as one of the projects that definitely deserved being picked up.”
