SATURDAY
A patriotic concert will be at 7 p.m. at the Gridley Veterans Memorial Hall, 249 Sycamore St., Gridley. The Oroville Community Concert band, under the direction of Dick Zancanella, will perform during the event, with Jim Moll as the emcee. Cost: Free.

The Northern Recon
Group will offer free rides to veterans and their family members around Ellis Lake, Marysville, in an original Navy landing craft on Saturday starting at 10 a.m., and Sunday starting at 2 p.m.

16th Annual Veteran’s Day Parade, Sunday, from
11 a.m.-2 p.m., downtown Marysville.
Veterans Day Breakfast at the Marysville Elks Lodge on Sunday, from 7 a.m.10 a.m., 920 D St., Marysville. Free for active duty military or retired veterans, all others $4 each.
River’s Edge Pub barbecue, karaoke and DJ following the parade, 1 E 12th St., Marysville.
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Olivehurst Post 4095, host a car show honoring veterans of the area from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.,
4956 Powerline Road, Olivehurst. The event is a fundraiser for the VFW and Camp Fire victims. Cost: Donations.
The Browns Valley Cemetery is honoring WW1 veterans at an event with selfguided tours and refreshments from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., 9370 Browns Valley School Road, Browns Valley.

Veterans Day is an official holiday. Federal, state and most local government offices are closed, as are banks, and some schools and businesses.
