Breakfast with Santa set for Sunday

-

Pancakes, cotton candy, face painting and photos with Santa Claus are all on the menu Sunday for the Early Risers Kiwanis Club annual Breakfast With Santa.

“We want children to be able to come out and enjoy the Christmas season,” said Tom Walther, Early Risers board member.

Breakfast with Santa has been going on for some 25 years and happens rain or shine. It will be inside Veteran’s Hall at 1425 Veterans Memorial Circle, Yuba City, from 8 a.m.-11 a.m.

Besides food and Santa Claus, the breakfast will also include music, clowns, and a magician for entertainment. Every year some 300 guests show up.

“I’m amazed at how many people come out each year,” said Annette Gisi, chairman. “It’s a party atmosphere. It’s crowded and everyone has fun.”

Gisi said the breakfast is not a fundraiser, but an opportunity for club members to give back to the community by providing a fun and festive atmosphere for the community to get into the holiday spirit.

“Everything we do is to serve the children and this is no exception.”

Breakfast With Santa is free for children 12 and under. For adults and teenagers who can afford it, admission is $5. For more information, call 674-5108.
