“We had a couple chances but unfortunat­ely we just couldn’t capitalize on them. I’m still very proud of the way the girls played. They didn’t give up,” said Live Oak coach, Mike Owen.

COLLEGE BASEBALL Yuba 11, West Valley 9 In Saratoga – The 49ers were able to edge out West Valley by a slim two-run margin as they defeated West Valley in the late innings of the game.

Aidan Gums was clutch in his performanc­e as he hit a two run double in the top of the ninth to give Yuba the 11-9 win.

Another notable performanc­e came from Keith Walker who tallied an RBI triple.

Yuba College (4-3) will travel to Redding next week to take on Shasta College.
