Roadwork continues in the region

Work on several Caltrans roadwork projects is set to continue this week.

Here’s what motorists in the area can expect:

Yuba County long-term project

State Route 20: Constructi­on continues on a $28.5 million safety project to straighten and flatten curves, widen shoulders, repave the roadway and improve drainage in the Smartsvill­e area. Completion is expected in 2020.

Short-term project

Between I Street and Blue Street, motorists can expect various lane and shoulder restrictio­ns from 8 p.m.-7 a.m. today through Friday for concrete pour.

Daughters of Leisure, DOL, luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. at the Plaza Room Street to Sixth Street, motorists can expect lane and shoulder restrictio­ns from 9 p.m.-7 a.m. today through Friday for concrete pour.

State Route 70: Between Mcgowan Road and the State Route 65 junction, eastbound motorists can expect the No. 2 lane and right shoulder to be closed from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. today through Friday for emergency work.

At Boyer Road, westbound motorists can expect lane and shoulder restrictio­ns from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday for concrete pour.

Sutter County short-term project

Between Striplin Road and the State Route 70 junction, southbound motorists can expect lane restrictio­ns and the right shoulder to be closed from 7 a.m.-6 at Hillcrest Plaza, 210 Julie Drive, Yuba City. Valentine/sweetheart Theme. Admission is $13. For more informatio­n, call 329-2055.

TUESDAY EVENTS

The Yuba College Music Department presents the Tuesday Noon Recital Series, which is at noon-2 p.m. at the Yuba College Theatre, 2088 North Beale Road, p.m. today through Friday for highway constructi­on work.

Colusa County long-term project

State Routes 20/45: Utility relocation work continues in advance of a $13.5 million project by Caltrans, the city of Colusa and Colusa County to replace the old pavement, flatten the roadway, construct new sidewalks, curbs and gutters and improve drainage between Market Street and Buena Vista Drive. Roadway constructi­on is expected to start in spring 2019.

Short-term project

State Route 20: Between Market Street and Country Club Drive, westbound motorists can expect lane restrictio­ns from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. today through Friday for utility work. Marysville. Host music faculty member Dr. Robert Mathews will introduce the Yuba College Alum students who will perform for the audience during this music recital. Featuring Alums David Antuzzi, guitar; Yuko Mcwhorter, guitar; Alexander Agapiades, piano; Monica Serrano, vocal; and Kelly Cunningham, vocal.
