East Nicolaus softball defeats Gridley, 9-0

Marysville baseball bests Center, 6-1

The East Nicolaus softball team continued its undefeated campaign on Thursday when it travelled to Gridley and took down the Lady Bulldogs by a final score of 9-0.

Leading the Spartans offense was Savannah Price who went 2-for-3 with two triples and three RBI. Other note worthy results came from Preslie Hewitt, who went 2-for-4 and Emma Gaytan who went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

On the mound, Savhanna Angland allowed four hits while retiring eight batters.

East Nicolaus softball (9-0) will play a doublehead­er on Saturday in Marysville against the Indians.

Marysville 14, Colusa 4 In Colusa – The Indians softball team routed the Redhawks on Thursday on the road by a ten-run margin.

Marysville was led by Madison Powell who finished the game with a home run and two RBI. Other standout performanc­es came from Raina Hudson, who went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Birdie Galaviz who went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Galaviz also pitched a complete game on the mound.

Marysville (3-1) will play Woodland Christian at home today.

BASEBALL Marysville 6, Center 1 In Marysville – The Indians ball club squared off with Center on Thursday in what proved to be a decisive win for the home team.

Marysville was led by multiple players on offense including: Morgun Goss and Will Townsend who each went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Other notable performanc­es came from Cole Tyler who went 2-for-3 and Dominic Crabtree who went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

On the mound, Devon Conway pitched five strikeouts and allowed zero hits through four innings.

Marysville baseball (4-2, 3-0) will play host Western Sierra on Saturday at noon. Colfax 17, Lindhurst 1 In Olivehurst – The Blazers lost a tough game on Thursday night after the defending section champions paid a visit.

Despite the loss, the Blazers were able to see one hit performanc­es from Andrew Rodriguez and Abraham Miranda.
