Sheriff’s office issues warrants for six men connected to assault

Two men, one woman attacked Jan. 28 in Linda

Arrest warrants have been issued for six men in connection to an assault on three people in Linda in January.

Adam C. Kaufman, Gregory A. Cheatham, Joey S. Malen, Adrian M. Mcdonald, Randy G. Cooper and Jason A. Sheehan were charged by the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office Wednesday and warrants were issued Thursday in connection to an assault on two men and a woman Jan. 28 in the 5200 block of Lindhurst Avenue.

The woman was at home with her boyfriend and two of their friends when her boyfriend left and returned with several others – some were known to the victims and others were not, according to Yuba County Sheriff’s Office spokespers­on Leslie Carbah. The men assaulted the three while the boyfriend allegedly stood by and watched, even pointing out one of the victims to a suspect.

One of the victims left before deputies’ arrival and didn’t want to be involved, Carbah said. The other victim sustained minor injuries including scrapes and bruising.

others assaulted the three victims. Cheatham allegedly forcibly took a cellphone from the female victim when she threatened to call 911, and Cooper is accused of messaging her on Facebook the same day and threatenin­g to kill her.

Cheatham is charged with first-degree robbery, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, preventing or dissuading a victim, and a number of special allegation­s and sentence enhancemen­ts for prior conviction­s.

Malen is charged with felony assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and special allegation­s and sentence enhancemen­t for prior conviction­s. Mcdonald is charged with felony assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. Cooper is charged with felony threats to commit a crime resulting in death or great bodily injury. Kaufman is charged with felony assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. Sheehan is charged with felony assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, felony preventing or dissuading a victim and felony threats to commit a crime resulting in death or great bodily injury.
