‘The Event’ Music Festival

The chairperson of “The Event,” which for several years now has featured musical acts and food in a one-night package at Peach Tree Golf Club, said they’re switching things up this year.

John Cassidy said that in the music industry, festivals are becoming extremely popular. So much so that they’re bringing a four-day music festival to Yuba-sutter.

“There’s a lot of history of musical talent that came from Yuba City,” Cassidy said. “This is all about bringing awareness.”

This will be the seventh year for The Event, but this will be first time it will lasted multiple days.

Cassidy said each day will have a headliner, with Tyler Rich being Country music star Tyler Rich performs at The Event on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club in Linda.

the main act Aug. 24. There will also be an abundance of local acts.

“Music festivals are hot in the music industry. Two major hotels in Yuba City are sold out because of this event,” Cassidy said.

The festival will happen from Aug 22-24 at Peach Tree. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Peach Tree and the other portion will benefit YCPD’S K9 Program.

“We choose a different charity every year to give back to. We’ve helped battered women, local businesses, and more,” Cassidy said.

He said he looks forward to the great quality of music and the community enjoying all the talent on display for those four days.
