WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

-

Jackie and Leonard Mcvey celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

They were married June 5,

1955, at the beautiful, serene, majestic Cathedral Tree at Trees of Mystery, Klamath, California, three weeks after his return home from the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War.

Jackie and Leonard were truly blessed with two wonderful children, a son Mike Mcvey and a daughter Lori Mcvey, who they both love so much and are so very proud of both of them.

Leonard is a fifth-generation Sutter County native. He is now a retired self-employed Hay Dealer of many years whose business stretched from the Oregon border to Southern California.

Jackie was born and raised in Klamath, California. At age 16, her first summer job was the cashier at the “End of the Trail” at Trees of Mystery until the family moved to Healdsburg, California, where Jackie graduated from Healdsburg High School and went on to study Visual Art and Interior Design in San Francisco, California.

After they were married, they spent most of their married life in Yuba City, raising their two children, which is the “proudest accomplishment” of Jackie’s life. During this time, Jackie graduated from Heald Business College in Sacramento with a

4.0 GPA and worked for Bank of America for many years. She started at the Yuba City branch on Colusa Avenue and she loved being mobile between branches of Gridley, Live Oak, Plumas Street, Linda/marysville and then returned to the Yuba City branch where she retired from.

They loved to world travel but their favorite place of all is on the

Pacific Coast, where they created a “magnificent and very enjoyable retreat” for family and friends. Periodically, they walk up the trail at Trees of Mystery to the majestic, serene Cathedral Tree, compliments of their friends and owners of Trees of Mystery.

After retiring, later they returned to Crescent City, California, where they established and are the original owners of Crescent City Hay and Feed

Store. The feed store was a fun and successful business with Leonard’s knowledge and Jackie’s education and talent for interior design. After three years, they sold the store and returned to Yuba City and are permanently retired to immensely enjoy family and friends.

Their children, very dear to their hearts, are son Mike Mcvey and wife Lorraine, daughter Lori Mcvey, grandchildren Jessica Mcvey Zall and husband Zach Zall, Matthew Mcvey and wife Jennifer Hembree Mcvey and great-grandchildren Kallie Mcvey and Alice Zall.

Jackie and Leonard are so very proud of each and every one of them.

Congratulations Mom and Dad! We love you.
