Sutter Youth Organization to host general membership meeting
The Sutter Youth Organization general membership meeting will be on October 20, 2020, starting at 7 p.m. at Ellwood Munger Hall, corner of Butte House Road and Acacia Street.
All SYO members and friends of SYO are invited to attend.
COVID-19 regulations, such as wearing a mask and distancing, will be expected from all attendees.
Agenda items will be primarily the updating on the facilities’ status, pool, park and hall use, and ways to continue the care and use of the facilities. New ideas for fund raising will be most welcome.
Membership may be obtained at this time. The SYO is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization.

Kiwanis Club of Yuba City hosts Installation Dinner
The Kiwanis Club of Yuba City held their Installation Dinner recently. It was a wonderful event. Master of Ceremonies was Wade Kirchner. Installing the new the Officers and Board was Past Lt. Governor Malkit Johl.
We got to thank our outgoing President Sondra Mallow and Board members, for their stellar efforts through a very challenging year.
Out going Board members were Stan Cleveland, Tom Moratto and Leann Hinz were recognized for their outstanding work.
New Officers are President Charlotte Roberto, President Elect Tej Mann, Vice President Pete Klempau, Secretary Marie Teria, Fiscal Secretary Linda Booth,treasurer Dennis Hinz, and Past President Sondra Mallow. Social Media Chair is Sharen Cornils. Incoming Board members are Michelle Sakaruda, Karen Cartoscelli and Kim Steffenson.
Awards and Recognitions went to Stanley Cleveland who received the Distinguished Kiwanian Award. Marie Teria was awarded the Kiwanian of the Year. Daria Ali was chosen ‘Rookie of the Year.
Pete Klempau received the Dedication Towel Award for his ongoing dedication to the Club. Lisa Kirchner received a gift basket for her hosting our COVID Compliant meetings.
President Charlotte Roberto is a VP with Wells Fargo
Bank and very active in supporting Kiwanis and a number of other Community activities. She was accompanied by her husband Herman and lovely daughter Chanel. She gave a heartfelt, and inspirational presentation, encouraging us to press on with the work of Kiwanis. Plans to continue to raise funds and provide support for programs that help the children of our community are in place, especially our scholarship programs, Key Clubs, Salvation Army Bellringing. Casa de Esperanza, Shady Creek Foundation to name a few.
