Dec. 5, 1929 - Dec. 17, 2020. Announcing the passing of John Edward Lanigan on Dec. 17, 2020 in Marysville, CA.

Survived by his wife Dorothy and children Michael, Michelle, Julia, Eric and Ken. Joseph and Burnedina Lanigan lived in KS having John, Joann, Mary Margaret and Patricia.

John lived in the Ozarks before enlisting in the USAF for 20 years. Stationed in Japan, Philippine­s, Guam, Saudi Arabia, and Taiwan. In the 1155th Tech Ops division involved in nuclear testing sites. Gathering air samples, weather, environmen­tal impacts and witness to 3 nuclear tests in the South Pacific. Receiving extensive training that was evidence to his abilities and assignment­s. He was in Civil Service for 17 years as a Tech Writer at Mcclellan AFB, retiring at 55. A smart guy and sharp up to the end.

In his 20's he married Elizabeth Tobol, moved to Japan having Lawrence and Michael, then to CO where Michelle and Julia were born. Stationed in Philippine­s, returning to the US in WV and finally in CA. John and Elizabeth divorced in the 70's. He met Dorothy Hugg at Mcclellan AFB and then remarried. She was a loving and devoted wife for 35 years. Dorothy has 2 sons, Kenneth and Eric.

Dad was very active, camping, golfing, hunting, water/snow skiing, fishing, biking, guitar and dancing. He loved birds, bluebirds especially. Translator for the Mexico Flying Dr Ass., Los Medicos Voladores providing vision, medical and dental care.

They lived in Yuba City for 14 years with 5 children and 8 grandkids.

We will be hosting a graveside service at the San Joaquin National Cemetery, Gustine, CA. There will be a celebratio­n of life service in the spring at their home in Yuba City. Arrangemen­ts provided by Lipp & Sullivan, 629 D Street, Marysville.
