Christine Dorothea Schellenger
Christine Dorothea Schellenger, 92, passed away on March 21, 2021, in her home at the Courtyard Assisted Living Facility i n Yuba City, CA.
She was born on June 27, 1928 to Effie Graves Schmidt and Christian S c h mi d t in Tierra Buena, CA.
She is preceded i n death by her husband of 57 years, Silas Avery Schellenger, her sisters, Esther Chandler and Elizabeth Schuler and her brother, Herman Schmidt.
She is survived by her children, Susan Bivins of Anaconda, MT, Rick Schellenger (Linda) of Genesee, ID, Carol Schellenger of Yuba City, CA, and Cliff Schellenger (Vonnie) of Chino Hills, CA and her niece, Meredy Weldin (Kenny) of Yuba City, CA. She is also survived by her grandsons Rex and Ross Schellenger, Chris Bivins (Rebecca) and her greatgranddaughter Abigail.
Christine had a great smile a nd l oved t he Courtyard and its wonderful staff. They were like a second family. S he l o v e d her d o g , Sophie, and enjoyed vacationing with her family. She loved nature and gardening and had a patio full of beautiful plants and flowers. She remembered everyone’s birthday, anniversary and special moments. She loved her children, her community and her c h u r c h , a n d made friends wherever she went.
A viewing will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a . m. o n T h u r s d a y , March 25, 2021 at the Sutter Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Marysville United Methodist Church, 730 D Street, Marysville, CA.
