George J a me s Halsted, age 81, of Olivehurst, CA, passed away on March 27, 2021, at his home surrounded by f a mil y . James was born in Bear Creek, AR, to George and Dovie Halsted on August 7, 1939.

He worked as a truck driver for Delta Lines, P.I.E. and Roadways. Throughout his career he r e c e i v e d man y awards for his hard work and dedication. In 1989, he received the Craftsman award from PIE that stated he was the number one worker across t h e Uni t e d States. He retired i n 1997 from a job he was proud of.

He enjoyed travelling with our mother in their R.V. where they met and made many friends. He loved playing baseball, riding motorcycle­s, and camping at Little Grass Valley. He enjoyed building and working on cars with his family, especially with his son Jay. Our dad was always hel p i ng f a mil y a nd friends on various home projects.

James is survived by his brother, Coy Halsted (Linda) of Medford, OR; brother, Wayne Holsted of Marshall AR; sister, Donna Edwards (Howard) of Yuba City, CA; sister, Judy (J.J.) Lockheart of St. Joe, AR; sister, Vickie Halsted–ackerson of London, AR; and Steven Halsted (Susan) of Marshall, AR; daughter, Rhonda Young of Olivehurst, CA; son, Kevin Halsted of Mountain View, CA; daughter, Tammy Quinn (John) of Browns Valley, CA; son, Chris Halsted (June) of Hernando, MS; and Jay Hals t e d ( Mandi) o f Marysville, CA. James has 12 grandchild­ren and 5 great-grandchild­ren who he l o ved dearl y.

He is preceded i n d e a t h b y h i s wi f e , Brenda Joyce Halsted; and his parents, George and Dovie Halsted.

Graveside services will be held at Sierra View Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021, at 12:00 pm with Pastor John Lewallen. A celebratio­n of life will be held following the graveside service at Marysville Art Club at 420 10th Street, Marysville, CA 95901.
