Michael "Sumo" Sanchez, of Sutter, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was 54 years old and the 11th child born to Juan and Ofelia Sanchez of Sacramento.
Mike worked at CalTrans as a Right of Way Agent and for the State for 21 years. Born and raised in Sacramento, he relocated to Yuba City in 1999, and spent the last 20 years in Sut
Sharon Marie Sloulin, passed away at home. September 23, 2021, at 71 years old. She was a resident of the Yuba Sutter area for 41 years.
Sharon is survived by her husband, John Sloulin; daughter, Sarah Sloulin; son, Paul Sloulin; 5 grandchildren, Jax 9, Emma 7, Keely 11, Brett 8 and Kade 5; brother, Terri Brown and a big, furry, friend, Olaf. (Dog)
She was preceded in death by her parents,herb and Thelma Brown.
A viewing will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 4-7 pm, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
A funeral service will be held October 1, 2021, at 10am, at Faith Lutheran Church i n Marysville. A graveside service will follow at Sutter Cemetery and a CELEBRATION of Sharon’s life will resume.
Sharon’s vibrant, cheerful and bubbly personality will be missed.

Born June 12th, 1955, in San Francisco, CA, Philip Lawrence Spadini, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on September 24, 2021, in Plumas Lake, CA.
Phil grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from South San Francisco High School and Golden Gate University. He worked as a CPA in the Bay and Sacramento regions, eventually opening his own firm. After several years, he decided to pursue his dream of a career in law enforcement.
He began working for the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department in the jail while he put himself through the police academy. Upon graduation he was hired as a Sheriff’s Deputy for Yuba County.
During his 23-year career with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department, Phil became a mentor and teacher to many. He was the lead investigator on hundreds of cases as a Detective Sergeant and worked as the leader of the Crisis Negotiation Team.
He was a beloved mentor to many of his deputies, teaching them to protect and serve while maintaining the good-natured heart he was known for. After 23 years in law enforcement he retired in April of 2016. He is remembered by his peers for his dedication to his team and his compassion for victims of violent crime.
To his friends and family, he was famous for his boundless sense of humor, his love of the San Francisco Giants, The Rat Pack, The Godfather movies, his Italian heritage, and his devotion to his loved ones. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marysville.
He is preceded i n death by his parents, Armando and Cecilia “Blanche” Spadini. He was the loving husband of Cynthia; the cherished father of Jamie (Keelan) Evanini, Kelly, Anthony, and Daniella; the adored “Nonno” of Gavin, Stella, and Hunter; t he beloved brother of Victoria; and a friend to many.

Thora passed away on September 27, 2021, at the age of 95, after living a full life focused on her family and community. She was a longtime resident of Yuba County having moved from North Dakota to Marysville with her husband and two children in 1955. There the family grew by t wo more children.
Over the years she volunteered in many organizations i ncluding the Red Cross, Hospice, VFW and Catholic Daughters of America. She particularly loved time with her grandchildren and summers at the family lake cabin in Minnesota.
Thora is survived by son, Lenny Larson; daughters, Susan Nieschulz (Dale), Linda Mitchell (Chuck), Peggy Kier ( Tom), and AFS daughter, Sholeh Karbassioon (Mehran); 10 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leonard (Bud) Larson; and brother, Jay Kurschner.
Thora was a resident of the Courtyard Assisted Living Facility in Yuba City. Her life was well-lived and wellloved.
A graveside service will be held at the Sierra View Memorial Park, 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 1, 2021.

December 12, 1951September 17, 2021 Susan Patricia Wilkins exited this world on September 17, 2021 after her heroic resistance to cancer. She was 69 years old.
Although she f i nished her life i n Salt Lake City, Utah, Susan was born i n Queens, New York, on December 16, 1951, to Wilbur Lindner and Cecilia Eleanor (de Boves) Lindner. She met the love of her life, Ronald Wilkins, as a teenager in New York, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage before her passing.
