James Denton "Scotty" Scott, was born on February 23, 1934, in Brazil, TN, and entered into paradise on August 31, 2021, surrounded by family in Arlington, TX.

Scotty spent many years of his life serving others, he served in the Army from 1953-1956, then served in the Air Force from 1961, until his retirement in 1990. He served in many combat missions in his years in Pararescue. He lived up to the motto and applied it to his daily life, "So Others May Live." He received several awards and ultimately retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1990.

Scotty married the love of his life Norma Ann Scott in 1956, and had six children. Scotty enjoyed many years spending time with his children, then grandchild­ren, and even great-grandchild­ren. He was affectiona­tely called Papa by them and he always lit up when the grandchild­ren came into the room. Taking walks and picking the best oranges from Papa’s orange tree are just some of the many memories that will live on.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents; 4 siblings; wife, Norma Ann Scott; second wife, Joanne Scott; loving daughter, Donna Scott; sons-in-law, Vern Fowler, and Raymond Mabee, Jr.

He will be greatly missed by his surviving children, Sylvia Scott of Arlington, TX, Pam Fowler of Albany, OR, Kymn Mabee of Yuba City, CA, Toni Scott and husband Johnny Hall of Hayward, CA, Jymn Scott and wife Jennifer Scott of Yuba City, CA; brother, Tommy and June Scott of Macomb, MI; sister, Barbara and Lanny Taylor of Trenton, TN; 10 grandchild­ren, Brianne Fowler and Toni Bucio of OR, Adrienne and Ryan Williams of OR, Jenna and David Nelson of TX, Tristin and Josh Howell of CA, Dillon and Meg Fowler of OR, Ashley and Ryan Blackburn of WA, Raymond Mabee III of CA, Kristofer Mabee and Fiancé Sydney Johnson of CA, Elizabeth and Joe Thayer of MT, and Blake Chester of CA. Scotty also was able to see 19 greatgrand­children, and many adoring friends including Connie Rupert and countless others.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Feather River Baptist Church, 5400 Chestnut Rd., Olivehurst, CA. Burial will be held in TN in the spring.
