Joyce Yvonne (Anderson) Holland

February 28, 1935

October 8, 2021 Joyce Yvonne (Anderson) Holland, age 86, went to her Lord in the evening of Friday, October 8, 2021, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her own home i n Marysville, CA.

Joyce was the third of four daughters born to “Maime” and Lyman Lester on February 28, 1935, i n Greenville, North Carolina. She remained a true southern bell always hospitable and graceful. Those who know her best describe Joyce as classy, loyal, precise, strong, sassy, l oving, giving, and having perfect hair!

Joyce is a tried-andtrue friend with many besties. Her loyal devotion to her husband is unparalleled. As a milita r y s pouse, s he r e - ceived multiple achievements and navigated her family’s moves before settling i n Yuba County for 55 years.

Joyce attended Beauty College in Las Vegas, NV, and worked for 7-10 years as a beautician. She was a recognized Sunday School Teacher and retired f r o m Mo n t g o me r y Wards after working 20+ years.

In retirement, Joyce independently maintained her home and was often seen mowing her 5+ acres and painting her fence well into her 70’s. She continued hosting many family dinners and holidays complete with QVC gifts and her famous collard greens, fried cornbread, and “homemade” macaroni and cheese. She is truly an inspiration.

Joyce is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 30 years, Robert “Dutch” Holland; three loving sisters, Virginia, Effie, and Lois; and grandson, Jake. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Robert “Bobby” Holland Jr. (Sharie) of Yuba City, CA, and Rodney Holland (Kris) of Antioch, CA; g r a n d c h i l d r e n , Jone, Robby (Celeste), Amber ( Steven), and Jennifer (Jeff); and nine great-grandchildren.

Joyce will be laid in her final resting place next to her husband at Sierra View Mortuary and Memorial Park in Olivehurst, CA. Funeral services will be held respectfully for close family and friends on October 29, 2021.
