Kristiane M. "Krissy" (Wheelon) Paulucci

Kristiane M. "Krissy" (Wheelon) Paulucci, peacefully passed away on October 5, 2021, at the age of 56, after a courageous 8-year battle with Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born to Ann (Shapro) and Albert Wheelon on January 3, 1965, in Crescent City, California. Krissy grew up in Crescent City enjoying riding horses with her best friend Connie Mcnamara.

Af t e r g r a d u a t i o n from high school, she a t t e nded Cal i f o r ni a State University, Sacramento and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with a minor in history. She earned her teaching credential the following year.

It was while attending college that she met Michael Paulucci and in February 1990 t hey were married in Crescent City, in front of a large gathering of family and friends. After a wonderful snow ski honeymoon i n Banff, Canada, t he c o uple settled in Novato.

After a short stay in Novato, t he c o upl e moved to Marysville where Krissy was hired by the Marysville Unified School District to teach third grade in the town of Dobbins. Krissy taught over 25 years at Al i c i a I nt e r mediate School, Browns Valley Elementary School and finally at Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts (MCAA) where she shared her passion of art with her students.

Krissy enjoyed travel, RV trips all over the western United States especially Sedona, Arizona. She loved spending time with family and friends while hiking, camping, boating, snow skiing, listening to music ( specially U2), enjoying the backyard pool and most of all creating artwork i n her backyard studio. Krissy exhibited her art on Plumas Street in 2015, and many t i mes a t the Yuba- S u t t e r fair.

Krissy is survived by her husband, Mike; and her two children, Kayli Bolek (Paulucci) and Casey Paulucci both of Yuba City. She is also survived by her only grandchild, Boston Dean Bolek, who was born on September 27, 2021. She was able to meet Boston two days b e f o r e her p a s s i ng. Krissy was the youngest of five children: Jeff Wheelon of Grants Pass, Oregon, David Wheelon of Hatfield, Arkansas, Kim Hindley (Wheelon) of Ferndale and Scott Wheelon of S u t h e r l i n , Or e g o n . Krissy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

At Krissy’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held later at a later date. She will be interned at the Sutter Cemetery in the town of Sutter.
