Our loving mother and grandmothe­r, Martha Dyettie WirzWillia­ms, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2021. She was born in Florence, Alabama, on February 21, 1922, to Chesley Sylvanus and Josie Angeline Elizabeth Self, the 3rd of 6 children. She had 9 half brothers and sisters.

Her family came to Live Oak when she was 2 years old, where she attended school, graduating from Live Oak High School i n 1939. Shortly after her graduation she met and married William “Ernie” Wirz. On their first meeting he went home and woke his mother to tell her that he had met the girl he was going to marry. They were true sweetheart­s who built a good life together, raising their 4 children in Live Oak as well. Sadly, Ernie passed away in 1975, when she was only 53.

Dyettie was very active in supporting the PTA and other local organizati­ons. She was a talented homemaker, seamstress, and family beautician. She always raised a big garden and

Michael Burroughs was born in Sacramento on December 26, 1943. He died in Red Bluff on November 15, 2020. He lived most of his 76 years in Marysville. He was the oldest in the family of William and Becky Burroughs.

Mike attended Marysville Elementary School. He enjoyed hunting and f i s hi ng with his family from an early age. He was a Boy Scout, attending Jamboree in Valley Forge with his troop from East Marysville. At Marysville High School, Mike enjoyed shop classes and l ettered i n track and field.

After graduation in 1961, he enlisted in the Navy. He served as a helicopter radio operator on the aircraft carrier, USS Bennington, in t he Paci f i c . He returned to Marysville in 1964 to attend Yuba College.

In 1966, he began working at PG&E as an estimator, eventually moving to the line department. He worked in Marysville and Oroville as a lineman, troubleman, and crew foreman. He r e t i r e d in 2000.

He enjoyed annual hunting trips for deer, elk or antelope. Every October, he camped in
