Connie Louise Owens, a g e 8 0 , o f Olivehurst, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, November 11, 2021.

Connie was born in Marysville, CA, to Denver Earl and Mable Herbert on February 24, 1941. She was a graduate of Marysville High School. She married the love of her life, Billie Ray Owens, on October 17, 1959, in Reno, NV. They were married for 62 years, having 4 children.

Connie worked in retail and was a homemaker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and friend. Connie was a member of New Life Assembly of God. Her favorite enjoyment was her family.

Connie is survived by her husband, Billie Ray Owens; son, Ron and Karan Owens; daughter, Donna Fortna; son, Dennis Owens; son, Stephen and Shalee Owens; her two brothers; Billie and Sandy, and Gary and Barbara Herbert; many nieces and nephews, 14 grandchild­ren, 11 greatgrand­children, and 3 great-great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 (noon), Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Sierra View Mortuary, 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, CA, with Curtis May, officiatin­g.

Corrine M. Goodman, passed away peacefully at her home November 10th 2021, surrounded by her family. She was 68.

Corrine was born in Yuba City, to lifelong Sutter county residents, Gerald and Beverly Goodman, where she attended St. Isidore School, then on to Yuba City High School.

Corrine spent most of her adult life i n San Jose, CA, and Las Vegas, NV, where she was a business owner and Tile Contractor. In later years, Corrine moved back to Sutter county to be close to family and friends.

Corrine l eaves behind t wo daughters, Shea Goodman of Las Vegas, NV, and Tracey Phillips of Sacramento, CA; a brother, Gerald "Sam" Goodman of Las Vegas, NV; and a sister, Dawn Collins of Yuba City.

Per Corri ne' s request, there will be no funeral services held.

Mary Jane Ray, formally known as “Janey Ray”, of Yuba City, California, passed away on November 2, 2021, in Sacramento, California.

Janey Ray was born in Stockton, California, to L.B. and Geraldine Cartwright on August 17, 1947. She had two younger brothers that preceded her in death, Larry and Steven Cartwright. She graduated from Edison High School, in Stockton, in 1965.

Janey moved to Yuba City in 2000, and began working for the Thiara Company and Sarb Thiara. She worked there for 20+ years. She worked closely side by side with Sarb and his daughter, Jasmin, and his two sons, Junior and Harmon, on a daily basis. Janey was a major part of the company and shared a special bond with each and every family member. She was more like family to the Thiara’s when it came to family or work events to major celebratio­ns. She was always by their side. She was known as a mom and grandma to the Thiara’s. She will be dearly missed by Sarb, Bakshinder, Jasmin (Michael), Junior (Nina), Harmon (Betha); and all her great-grandchild­ren.

Janey was vibrant and full of life. She loved to travel. Among her travels, she did several mission trips to Asia in her later years. Janey attended The Bridge church where she was a servant of God and liked to bless and love on others. She lived for her family and loved to go camping with them. Janey was a lover of desserts. She was a Grandma to all. She left a legacy of love and strong relationsh­ips to her family. They will cherish every memory and moment they shared with her. She will be missed tremendous­ly by her family and all that knew her.

Janey is survived by her daughter, Shelly (Mark) Moore; grandsons, Robert Moore, Jonathan ( Wi t n e y ) Moore, Tobiah Moore; g r a n d d a u g h t e r , Hadassah Moore; greatgrand­daughters, Adalynn and Abigail Moore.

A Celebratio­n of Life service for Janey Ray will be held at The Five30 Event Center 1104 J St., Marysville, CA 95901, Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 pm. Food and Fellowship to immediatel­y follow.

Henry Pringle Smith passed away peacefully October 10, 2021, at the age of 89. Born February 24, 1932, in Marysville, CA, to his parents, Sidney and Irene.

Henry was raised in Browns Valley with his brother Clarence and sisters Betty, Donna and Mona. Henry was a graduate of Marysville High School i n 1950 where he was active in FFA. Henry served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1955.

Henry married the love of his life Rosemary Schreiner in 1958. They were married for 50 years until her passing in 2008.

Henry was a successf ul farmer i n Yuba County for 65 years where he raised peaches, prunes, walnuts and cattle.

Henry gave credit for his success to the knowledge he gained from the many friends and advisors in the farming community and the loving support of his family.

Along with his farming, Henry’s real pass i on was hi s c a t t l e . Henry raised cattle on t h e h o me ranch in Browns Valley were he spent many long days.

Henry and Rosemary traveled to many places which included China and Chile. There they observed how peaches were grown in a different setting. Henry was able to give advice and also gain knowledge from their techniques.

Henry is survived by his children, grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren and his sister, Mona Tiff.

Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; his parents, Sidney and Irene; brother, Clarence; and sisters, Betty and Donna.

Private family services were held. Donations in Henry’s memory can be made to Marysville High School FFA, Attn: Pam, 12 E 18th St., Marysville, CA 95901.

Raquel Nuno, 53, of Yuba City, CA, passed away November 15, 2021. She was a life long resident of Yuba City. She loved working with our local youth and spent over 25 years with the Yuba City Unified School District.

She is survived by her son, Enrique Huizar (Danielle); her parents, Jovita and David Nuno; her loving sisters, Maria Uriostegui (Bulmaro), Martha Del Toro ( Rober t o ) , Re b e c c a Nuno and Araceli Nuno ( B r i a n ) ; a n d many nieces and nephews.

A mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church on November 22, 2021, at 2:30pm, a celebratio­n of life will be held immediatel­y following.

Hayden Teal Graves, age 19, of Live Oak, passed over on November 8, 2021, in an automobile accident. Hayden was born in Yuba Ci t y o n October 8 , 2002. Hayden resided in Live Oak with his mom.

Hayden a t t e n d e d school in Live Oak and graduated from Live Oak High School i n 2020. Hayden is surv i v e d b y h i s mom, Kathy Harwood-graves; brother, Henry Graves of Camarillo; stepfather, David Austin of Mountain Ranch; grandparen­ts, John and Dorothy Heenan of Live Oak; uncles, Kent (Dawnita) Harwood of Live Oak, Craig (Adrienne) Harwood of Chico, Bradley (Cara) Harwood of Live Oak, Mel (Gale) Padgett of Turlock. Hayden had many cousins whom he l oved and who loved him, David Padgett of Turlock, Michael Padgett of Turlock, Joshua (Cecelli) Harwood of Germany, Curtis (Sarah) Harwood of Oregon, Steven Harwood of Marysville, Mathew Harwood of live Oak, Joslyn Harwood o f Li v e Oak, Makenzie Harwood of live Oak, Skyler Harwood of Oregon, and Riley Harwood of Oregon. Hayden was loved by an enormous extended family who he loved, traveled with, and celebrated holidays. Jack (Shelby) Little, Jonas Little, Hannah All e n, Daniella Lit t l e, Priscilla little, Laura Little and Bob Hall.

Hayden was blessed with amazingly l oyal and true friends. These young men were a family unto t hemselves. Cracking each other up, of course playing video games, caring for each other, listening to each other and carrying each other's burdens and worries. To Jakob, Jaz, Randy, Bai l e y , a nd Mikey, know that Hayden spent time with the people he wanted to spend time with. His friends were of the upmost i mportance to him. You have been a blessed source of comfort for his family, and we are eternally grateful.
