May 23, 1919Januar­y 11, 2022 George H. Inouye passed away peacefully at his home in Yuba City, CA, on January 11, 2022, at age 102 3/4.

He is survived by his sister, Mary “Mel” Tsuji; four children: Joanne Inouye, Wayne Inouye (Shannon), Mitzi Nakashima, Julie Inouye (Dr. Michael Rubottom); seven grandchild­ren; four great-grandchild­ren; and two step-greatgrand­children; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and several amazing caregivers.

He was predecease­d by his wife, Betty (1992), his parents, Sadame and Tamaye Inouye; and siblings, John Inouye, Ann Kodama, and Lily Moritsugu.

George was born outside Stockton, CA, on May 23, 1919; graduated from Sacramento High in 1938, and attended Yuba Community College. George, his siblings, and their Issei parents were interned at Amache Camp in Granada, Colorado. In 1942, George enlisted in the Army and served with the Military Intelligen­ce Service as a translator and photograph­er. He was honored with a Congressio­nal Gold Medal in 2012.

George was a farmer in Yuba City from 1947, until his retirement in 1993. Mechanical­lyminded since he was a child; George repaired cars, trucks, and other farm equipment. He even invented several designs for tractor attachment­s which John Deere uses today.

After the war, he served on numerous agricultur­al boards in northern CA. Additional­ly, George was an active volunteer in the community; frequently serving on the Boards of the Marysville Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), Marysville Buddhist Church, Northern California District Church Board, and Yuba City Lions Clubs. George was honored with numerous awards from each of these organizati­ons.

He served on the School Board of Trustees for Central Gaither Elementary from 19581970, and was a member of the VFW Nisei Post #8985 since 1948. He was also one of eight directors helping improve the California Board of the Bracero program from 19561959; and personally sponsored three men who eventually became U.S. citizens.

Memorial Services and a Celebratio­n of George’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at Marysville Buddhist Church, 125 B St. in Marysville, CA 95901. Face masks, proof of Covid vaccinatio­n, and temperatur­e check required upon entering the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of George Inouye may be made to the Marysville Buddhist Church, the Marysville JACL, PO Box 2253, Marysville, CA 95901, or a charity of your choice.

On April 30, 2022, Jack Anderson passed away at the age of 60 years old. Jack was born on January 29, 1962 to Claude Eugene and Jewel Dean Anderson of Orland CA. Brother Gary Anderson.

He is survived by his sister Malinda Anderson and nephew Jason and his wife Aida Lepper of Orland. Jack was a devoted father to his daughters. Amber Thomas, husband Cody of Chico, CA. Jasmine Jones and grandsons Anthony and Dominic of Yuba City, CA and daughter Chrystal Castillo of Yuba City, CA. Ex-wife Linda Anderson of Sacramento, CA. Wife Karen Anderson of Chico, CA. Stepdaught­er Lori Stone and husband Darin of Roy, WA and stepdaught­er Jennifer Walker of Yuba City, CA. In-laws Joe and Irene Mobley of Junction City, KS.

Jack has been a commercial truck driver for 37 years. Fedex Freight Line driver for 30 of the 37 years. He had received his 30 year Safety Milestone and passed all his Road Side Inspection­s. He loved boating and was his own captain of Jack’s Off Time, Delta Dream, and Knot A Karen The World. His other hobby was ham radios.

Jack’s Memorial will be at The Masonic Cemetery, 6525 Co, Road 9, in Orland, CA. 95963, Saturday May 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.

Stephanie Marie Little passed away on April 29, 2022. She was born December 27, 1943, in Marysville, CA. She had lived in the Yuba-sutter Area for 54 years.

She was a social worker in various counties and a substitute teacher. She was a member of the Lions Club for 15 years. Stephanie was also on the board for the Square Dance Associatio­n for many years. She loved traveling and spending time with her family.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Mary Ellen Hurtado.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Little of Yuba City; her daughter, Polly Morse of Yuba City; her brothers, Christophe­r Johnson of Olivehurst and Marc Johnson of San Diego. Stephanie had four grandchild­ren, Stephen Morse, Kayla Morse, Celeste Vila and Abigail Morse. She had eight great-grandchild­ren.

Services will be held on May 20, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 520 Clark Ave, Yuba City, CA 95991. There will be a viewing at the church from 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm and the service will begin at 1:00 pm. The grave dedication will immediatel­y follow at Sutter Cemetery.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel of Yuba City.
