In association with Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture, the event will take place starting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the Lee Burrows Center for the Arts, located at 630 E St. in Marysville.
Chuck Champlin, president of the local club known as the Peachbowl Dawnbreakers, said the club promotes better speaking skills.

Champlin said in a statement.
Champlin said Toastmasters International manages about 14,000 public speaking clubs in 148 countries. He said members receive encouragement and training in a variety
of speaking styles – informative, entertaining and dramatic.
“Joining Toastmasters can help people of almost any age boost their self-confidence and advance their careers, social lives and personal interests,” Champlin said. “Participants at club meetings also engage in
a variety of supportive roles as timers, evaluators and joke tellers. In a portion of meetings called ‘Table Topics,’ members are invited at random to express themselves unrehearsed, for one to two minutes, on subjects such as favorite movies, memorable life experiences or lessons learned.”
Champlin is expected to give a 5-7 minute speech at the Dec. 6 meeting called “That Moment of Inspiration.”
