Erma A. Foster

Dianne Marie Dahl- strom (nee Darracq), a sprightly spirit whose love for the natural world, was as perennial as her garden, passed on March 16, 2024, in Boise, Idaho.

Aged 86, she started on March 7, 1938, in Sutter, California, and grew to be an animal enthusiast, a shutterbug of the great outdoors, and a soul of serene independence.

Dianne's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of various vocations.

She first connected people through her work in sales at Pacific Bell from the late '70s into the '90s. She then kneaded her path into wellness as a massage therapist before whisking away to mix it up as a baker and bartender at City Cafe in the 2000s.

Her plot twist from sales to therapy to pastry was nothing short of a delightful life recipe.

A graduate of UCLA'S Theater Arts program, Dianne knew that all the world was a stage, but her favorite set was her own backyard, where she played the lead role in gardening. A production that returned season after season to rave reviews from friends, family, and the local squirrels.

Leaving behind a legacy as enduring as the mightiest oak, Dianne is fondly remembered by her sons, Gabe Dahlstrom (with Katie as his leading lady) and Christian Dahlstrom (co-starring Ian); her grandsons, Hayden and Jacob Dahlstrom; her sister, Elaine Lindsey; and her brother, Kevin Darracq.

Taking their final curtain call before her were her father, Joseph Darracq Sr.; her mother, Mabelle Darracq; and her brothers, Dal and Joe, Jr.

Curtains will rise for a celebration of Dianne's life in Yuba City, California, come early May 2024. I n a plot twist that even she would applaud, instead of flowers, Dianne's script suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. It's a cause to which she'd happily raise a martini or two.

The Boise funeral home is managing the final arrangements, ensuring Dianne's encore is as memorable as her life's show. Curtain call is complete, but the memories will play on forever.
