Local author tackles fentanyl in new release

Author Tracy Norris invites readers on an emotional journey with the launch of her latest novel, “Shadows of Grief.” Delving into the intricate facets of a mother-son relationsh­ip, the book navigates the profound depths of love and pain before and after the son’s tragic passing due to fentanyl poisoning.

“Shadows of Grief ” is a powerful exploratio­n of the human experience, capturing the heartwrenc­hing dynamics between a mother and son. Tracy Norris takes readers through the highs and lows of their relationsh­ip with exquisite sensitivit­y.

The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a fentanyl poisoning, shedding light on the devastatin­g consequenc­es of the opioid crisis while offering a poignant reflection on the broader societal issues surroundin­g addiction and loss.

“My book addressees the fentanyl epidemic and how my son (Yuba County resident) lost his life to fentanyl poisoning. Along with David Cotter and many others, my son will be on the April 2024 billboards coming to North Beale Rd. We have worked with the fentanyl task force and COPE to spread awareness of the dangers on fentanyl in Yuba County and this book is a tribute to my son, Marcus and an effort to impact the local community,” Norris said.

A release party for her book will be held at Steele House Coffee in Yuba

City at 6p.m. on March
