Jeannie was born on August 9, 1950, in Clay Center, KS, to Bill and Ione Gilbert. She grew up on the family farm in Clifton, NJ, attended local schools and graduated from Clifton High School in 1968.
After moving to California and becoming an enrolled agent, Jeannie worked as an accountant with Croce and Company Accountancy Corporation in Stockton for 43 years prior to retiring in 2020. She specialized in estate and trust tax law.
Jeannie circled back to her farming roots when she was introduced at a Thanksgiving reunion by her friend and colleague, Jane, to the love of her life, Knute Kalfsbeek. Little did she know she’d be attending these family gatherings for the next three decades as a family member.
