Several developers arrived in Marysville on Friday afternoon for a tour organized by representatives from the city and Yuba County.

The goal of the tour, according to officials, was to provide a realworld look at the opportunities for development in both Marysville and Yuba County.

The tour included developers currently working on the former Alibi building in Marysville that is expected to be the new home of Tracey’s Diner, the Hyatt hotel along B Street and others that have been doing business and may do business moving forward in the area.

“First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for coming, I know you all have busy schedules. We’re very glad you’re here participating in this tour of ours,” Marysville City Manager Jim Schaad said prior to Friday’s walking portion of the tour.

“... If you haven’t figured out the theme, our cities and our counties, one of their highest priorities is to encourage economic development. We all know that is what makes the world go around.”

Schaad said officials with the city and county are available to not only “encourage economic development,” but “facilitate economic development with our developers.”

Schaad touted the momentum that has been taking place in recent years in the city and county.

“We’re seeing significant growth in the county and we’re seeing significant interest in Marysville proper now,” Schaad said. “I’m hoping that that momentum will continue and I know the reason it will continue is because folks like you that are showing interest in the community. I am hoping also this tour will inspire you to
