Empire Electric Granted Easement For Service To New Bank
Mayor Gregg Sweeten opened the Pineville City Council meeting April 28 discussing an easement for Empire District Electric, giving permission for the new pole for the new branch of the Cornerstone Bank to be on the fire station side of the street.
Construction of the new full-service facility is expected to begin soon and to be completed in early fall.
Pleasant Ridge Road was discussed. The city has accepted it as a city street and is waiting for the approval of the county.
Chris Tinsley, public works director, said he can do the sidewalk on the city square including curbing for less than $2,000.
The sidewalk will keep people from driving onto the grass.
Sweeten said guttering for the cook shack is going to be donated by a local businessman.
Old Business
The annexation of Marvin Mericle real property into the city limits of Pineville was approved by the council.
Sweeten said the new cook shack will need a fan to compensate for air taken out through a ventilation system.
The cost will be $ 920. This expenditure was approved by the council.
Sweeten said Tinsley provided a list of items needed, including water meters. The total cost is $3,183.68. This expenditure was approved by the council.
The board discussed water leaks and charged off three leaks to bad debt. A homeowner had a leak and requested that the council make an adjustment to average the bill, which was approved.
Departments
Ci ty Marshal David Beshears presented an Appreciation Award to Deputy Chris Pierce for his actions in thwarting a suicide attempt.
The council discussed and approved bills, including transfers in the amount of $15,847.85.
