passed away on Dec. 22, 2015, after an ATV accident near his home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Ann Hackett.
His family moved from Arizona to Missouri in 1978. He attended and graduated from McDonald County High School in 1985. He worked construction along side his father and brothers in the family business. He was well known for his talent as a drummer and his love for music. He was known to his family and friends as the life of the party with his ability to make those around him laugh. He was sure to greet you with a big smile and a hug. He once tried to set the world record for putting the most marshmallows in your mouth. He was also known for his beautiful face, hard work, quick wit and kind heart.
He is survived by his father, John and wife Leisa Hackett of Seligman, Mo.; two sisters, Jodi Danhof Hackett of West Valley, Utah, Jill and husband Justin Wiltse of Bentonville; four brothers, Johnny Hackett of Bentonville, Ark., Joel and wife Kristy Hackett of Lubbock, Texas, Jason and wife Pam Hackett of Anderson, Mo., and Jarod Hackett; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services to honor his life were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson with Bishop James Martin from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. He was laid to rest at Antioch Cemetery in Jacket, Mo.

Carl Nelson Nichols
Feb. 2, 1928 Dec. 28, 2015 Mr. Carl Nelson Nichols, Jr., 87, of Anderson, Mo., departed this life on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at the Freeman Hospital in Neosho, Mo., after a sudden illness. Nelson entered this life on Feb. 2, 1928, in El Paso, Texas, son of the late Carl Nichols, Sr. and Henrietta Louise (Oliver) Nichols. He was raised in Hollywood, Calif., and was a 1945 graduate of Hollywood High School. He resided in Lakeside, Calif., before moving to Moore, Okla., in 1967. Nelson was a minister of the Church of Christ, surrendering to the ministry at the age of seventeen. He also worked for a period of time in pharmaceutical sales and as a Realtor. On Feb. 16, 1970, he was united in marriage to Earlene Eaves and together they have shared the last fortyfive years. In 1974, he and Earlene moved their family to Anderson. Shortly after moving there, he decided to further his education by attending Crowder College and Missouri Southern State College, earning his Master’s Degree in Education at the age of fifty. He began employment with the McDonald County School District, first teaching art and eventually becoming principal and teacher at both White Rock and Rocky Comfort. In 2004, he retired as the Anderson Elementary School Counselor. In his spare time he enjoyed, reading, woodworking and art projects.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Naoma Carlene Nichols, his parents; four brothers, Ray, Eddie, Charlie, and David Nichols; a sister, Louise King; and a great-granddaughter, Carly Ann Nichols.
Nelson is survived by his wife, Earlene Nichols of the home; five sons, Carl N. “Nick” Nichols, III and wife, Sally, of Neosho, Mo., Ed Rylan Nichols and wife, Joy, of Tulsa, Okla., Brad N. Nichols of Anderson, Barton J. Nichols and wife, Michelle, of Joplin, Mo., and Paul R. Nichols and wife, Shaine, of Claremore, Okla.; three daughters, Machelle D. Nelson and husband, Roy, of Riverbank, Cali., Jessica D. Nelson and husband, Nate, of Wichita, Kansas, and Sandy J. Nichols also of Wichita; twenty-three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul O. Nichols of Overland Park, Kansas, and Richard F. Nichols of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Betty Jean Middick of Springfield, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Nichols are 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Ronny F. Wade and Carl M. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Mo. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jared, Etienne, Uriah, David and Josiah Nichols and Clay Nelson. Matthew, Cameron, Brock and Jason Nichols and Levi Nelson will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Phyllis M. Robinson was born to Harold and Isabel Bevis Aug. 27, 1942, in Alva, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Robinson; and her son, Michael W. Cook.
She is survived by four daughters, Penny, Tracy, Kathy, and Kimber; one son, David Yates; 19 grandchildren: 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie Troppman of Grove, Okla, and Gail Browning of Bella Vista, Ark; and many other people with the same unconditional love that she had.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Mo., under the direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson.
