Lant Honored For Efforts On Behalf Of Youth
JEFFERSON CITY — One of the state’s leading advocacy groups for promoting justice for children, youth and families honored state Rep. Bill Lant on May 25 for his collaborative efforts to improve the Missouri Juvenile Justice and Child Welfare Systems. Lant’s sponsoring of HB 2355, which establishes the Missouri State Juvenile Justice Advisory Board, clearly demonstrated his commitment to the juvenile justice and child welfare systems in Missouri.
Lant received the award during the Presidents Reception that he and his wife attended at the Missouri Juvenile Justice Association’s Spring Educational Conference at the Branson Radisson on May 25. Originally invited to the reception to assist Board president Bev Newman in presenting the Excellence in Juvenile Court Program Award, Representative Lant was surprised with the award and a plaque with the following inscription: “Great Achievements are nurtured with the cooperation of many minds with a common VISION working towards a common goal.”
“I am proud to stand with the Missouri Juvenile Justice Association and my colleagues in the legislature to stand in defense of justice for our children, youth, and families. We must continue to work together to ensure that Missouri’s juvenile and family courts are truly beneficial to the children they serve,” said Lant, R-Pineville.
