Jan. 18, 1942 July 12, 2016 Helen Virginia Tryon, 74, of Lanagan, Mo., died on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2016, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after a long courageous battle with COPD.

She was a homemaker and caregiver throughout her life. She enjoyed watching movies and going to yard sales with her grandchild­ren. She loved the beach, tigers, collecting dolls and spending countless hours with her family and friends. She attended Sunday services at the Anderson Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Porter.

She is survived by her four children, Kevin Tryon and wife Tina of Gravette, Ark., Greg Tryon of Lanagan, Angela Nevin and husband Jim of Mobile, Ala., and Simi Elston and husband Terry of Kahoka, Mo.; 10 grandchild­ren, Welsly and James Nevin, Zach and Amy Elston, Thomas, Ashley, Laura and Isaac Tryon, Caiden Williamson and Grace Hendren; five great-grandchild­ren, Canaan, Elijah, Gabby, Nathanial and Noah Nevin; three siblings, Cola Sloan of Atlanta, Faye Sumrall of Show Low, Ariz., and Wayne Porter and wife Sue of Jerusalem, Ark.; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Anderson, Mo. Toby Henson officiated.
